Unforgettable Experience at Gloriette Guesthouse in South Tyrol

I have said it before, but I have to share it again: Italy is definitely my favorite European Country and I always enjoy going back and explore some more. I still have a few places to discover, but I am happy to say I had the chance to fall in love with South Tyrol thanks to Gloriette Guesthouse and Unforgettable Hotels! It felt like being in a painting the whole time!

I will soon post a new travel blog about places to visit from Bergamo Airport, including South Tyrol as we did, but for now I want to tell you all about the best place to stay in the area – GLORIETTE GUESTHOUSE!

After a beautiful drive from Bergamo Airport, we have arrived in the heart of South Tyrol and we started going up to Oberbozen while enjoying amazing panoramic views. We checked in at the beautiful Gloriette Guesthouse and it was love at first sight.

Even though it is called „Guesthouse”, you shouldn’t be fooled by its title, Gloriette felt like a 5 stars hotel, but with a warmer and lovelier atmosphere!

Offering 25 rooms divided in 4 categories, delicious food at Ristorantino, fancy cocktails at Trust Bar & Lounge Bar and the perfect experience at the panoramic Rooftop Spa, Gloriette Guesthouse will steal your heart away in a second.

It may seem like I am only saying good things about this property, but the truth is I have nothing bad to say since we really enjoyed our time there and their attention to details. From the paper straws offered with drinks till the flower vases on the stairway and the perfect rooftop terrace where we had breakfast, everything was impeccable.

Gloriette Guesthouse is a family owned business which gives coziness to the place and explains how much they care about their guests. After dinner, everyone gathered around the fireplace in the lobby and chatted while having a glass of wine. Sounds pretty good, right?

We were welcome in a “Fresca Estateroom at the second floor which had a big balcony overlooking the mountains. Wish we had more time just to sit on the terrace and enjoy the peaceful view, but there were so many things to do in the area that we were on the clock the whole time.

The good news is that we had the same magical view directly from our bed so it was the perfect way to start the morning.

The attention to details could easily be observed in the room as well: modern design, comfortable bed, glass shower in the room, personalized bathrobes and slippers (both for women and men), fancy bag to carry your towels if you want to enjoy a sunny day in the garden, blanket, mini bar stocked with delicious products, tea and coffee machine, USB box, hairdryer etc.

You know how much I love breakfast and I have to say Gloriette Guesthouse did not disappoint. Great selection of fresh fruit, including exotic ones, fluffy croissants, home-made gems, local cheese & ham. Besides the buffet, you are invited to choose one main course from the menu and I have to admit it will be hard to only pick one. My favorite was “Egg Gloriette” which meant French brioche, avocado, salmon, poached egg and sauce hollandaise with olive oil. Yummy!! I wish I had this for breakfast every morning.

My second favorite was “Scrambled egg in a pan” which was basically scrambled egg with Speck which is a dry-cured, lightly smoked ham, produced in South Tyrol.

You can even have some bubbly for breakfast to celebrate life in such a beautiful place!

We always like to try as many restaurants as we can while we are exploring a new area, but this time Gloriette Guesthouse convinced us to only eat there since our first dinner there was delicious!

This deserves more attention, so I will soon post a whole new article showing you which tasty dishes we had the chance to try!

I have to say one more thing: Chef Thomas sure know what he is doing!

I bet you were all waiting to read this since the panoramic rooftop pool is probably the main attraction at Gloriette Guesthouse. This is how we fell in love with this place before even arriving there.

The spa area is at the 5th floor and even though it is not very big, it offers everything you need for deep relaxation in the heart of the mountains.

You have a heated pool “in the sky” offering beautiful views of the area, fancy glass sauna, Turkish bath and cozy relaxation area. Snacks and tea are provided for free for the guests and sparkling wine is available on request. And guess what? You can have it served on a floating table and feel like you are in Bali for a second!

Even though the hotel was full when we were there, we had the pool all to ourselves multiple times which made the experience even nicer.

PS: Be sure to be in the pool for sunset! The view is amazing!

PS2: Spa access is included for all guests at Gloriette Guesthouse.

One thing I love when we visit new places is searching for cool spots to have picnics. It feels like a great way to relax and connect with the nature while enjoying a tasty brunch or lunch and a glass of prosecco. The beautiful surprise was that Gloriette Guesthouse had us covered: they prepared a lovely picnic basket with fruit, croissants and prosecco so we only had the find the perfect place for our blanket. We chose a location a bit further away from the hotel, but it really felt like a fairytale so it was the best decision. The place is called Val di Funes and we totally recommend putting it on your list too!

Gloriette Guesthouse is located Soprabolzano, South Tyrol, 255 km away from Milan Bergamo Airport, 174 km from Verona Airport and 210 from Venice Treviso Airport.

The easiest way to get to the property is by car as we did, but the ride is mainly on highways which makes it easier to get there. As a plus, you will love the view and you can even decide to stop along the way and drink a cup of Italian coffee or a glass of Aperol if you are not driving (lucky me!). This time we stopped at Riva del Garda and we were happy we had the chance to check this amazing place as well.

Another important information is that Gloriette Guesthouse is located just 1-minute walk from the aerial cableway connecting you to Bolzano. Sadly, it was not working when we were there due to renovation, but ir is now open for public again so you can enjoy it on your future visit.

Every guest receives a Ritten card which means free use of all local transport (cable car, train, shuttle bus).

This being said, we didn’t want to leave Gloriette Guesthouse anymore. We felt welcome, relaxed and we totally recommend you to enjoy this paradise in the mountains when you can! I promise you will not regret it! So thankful to Unforgettable Hotels for showing us this amazing guesthouse!

Love,
