Weekend Getaway at Premier Luxury Mountain Resort in Bansko, Bulgaria

If you have been following my journey, then you would know for sure I am not a big fan of winter and I have nothing in common with winter sports. My fiancé loves snowboarding on the other hand so he convinced me to have a snowy getaway in our neighborhood country, Bulgaria. Our first stop was Premier Luxury Mountain Resort in Bansko and I will include all the details of our snowy experience below!

Premier Luxury Mountain Resort is a 5 stars resort situated in Bansko, Bulgaria, at the foot of Pirin Mountains. It offers 22 different room and suite types ready to meet all your expectations with their elegant design.

Premier Luxury Mountain Resort is a member of Ermia Hotels & Resorts and Small Luxury Hotels of the World so you will find high quality services and facilities for the perfect mountain getaway.

What to expect: Two exquisite restaurants and a stylish bar, spa & gym facilities, outdoor season pool & indoor year round pool, concierge services, VIP ski passes and amazing mountain views.

We arrived on Friday around noon, after driving 7 hours from Bucharest, so finding our cozy room ready was the perfect way to start our weekend getaway. The room was situated in Block B at the 5th floor and we even had a little surprise waiting for us from Premier Luxury Resort: a bottle of red wine and a fruit platter to unwind and relax after a long and tiring morning. My favorite part was staying in the window on the fluffy armchair and reading some cool magazines while enjoying a glass of wine. Please, don’t judge, wine doesn’t count on holidays!

You already know I am a big fan of breakfasts and Premier Luxury Mountain Resort didn’t let me down. Since we needed a lot of energy and strength on the ski slopes, we decided to start the day with the breakfast of champions, British inspired: bacon & eggs with beans and mushrooms <3 Yummy! If you prefer the healthy option, don’t worry, you have lots of options too: vegetable & fruit, yogurt, cereals etc. I also have to mention the delicious freshly made pancakes & pastries!

Dionyssos Restaurant also offers buffet thematic dinners and tries to take you on a different gastronomic trip every day. You can find Italian, Bulgarian or Greek cuisine, depending on the schedule, or Barbeque nights which are perfect for food lovers.

If you want to dine in style in Bansko, you have to try Amvrosia Restaurant! We were welcomed with a surprise dinner courtesy of the chef and we have to say we were impressed both by the dishes and the impeccable serving. Stoyan, our waiter, took good care of us and made us smile the whole time.

I have prepared a separate article where I will show you all our choices: first & second course and, the most important, dessert. Click HERE to read all about our experience.

The Spa

I have arrived to my favorite part: The Spa. It is true that we went to the mountain for me to learn how to practice a winter sport (in this case snowboarding), but believe me there is nothing better after the slopes than heading directly to the spa. We took advantage of all the facilities which, by the way, are free for hotel guests: indoor heated pool, Jacuzzis, sauna, aroma sauna, steam sauna.

Premier Luxury Mountain Resort also awaits you with a fitness center, different types of massages and spa treatments (for an additional cost) and an outdoor seasonal pool if you decide to unwind in summer time.

Premier Luxury Mountain Resort is located in the foothills of Mount Pirin, in the heart of Bansko, Bulgaria

The hotel is ideally situated just 700 meters away from the Ski Lift and very close to the city center where you can find lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc. There is a free shuttle bus to the ski lift available for hotel guests, which is definitely a plus because no one wants to carry around the ski/snowboard equipment.

Bansko is situated approximately 150 kilometers away from the capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia, where you can also find the nearest airport.

We chose to arrive by car from Bucharest, which meant around 7 hours of driving, but we had no problems on the road.

You can find free parking at Premier Luxury Mountain Resort just in front of the hotel or you can choose the underground parking for a fee of 10 Bulgarian Lev per day, which means around 5 Eur.

If you come by plane, the hotel can arrange airport transfer for an additional cost.

This being said, I hope you liked our experience at Premier Luxury Mountain Resort and if you have any questions or would like to know any other details, I am here to help you. You can leave a comment below or head to my Instagram account and I will answer as soon as possible.
