The Ultimate Hotel Experience at Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko in Bulgaria

If you want to convince me to go to the mountains in winter time, you have to say to say the following 5 magical words: „They have the best Spa!” And since Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko in Bulgaria can surely be proud of that, we were already on our way to check it out! I will tell you all about our experience bellow.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena is a luxury 5 star Spa Hotel in Bansko, Bulgaria, at the footsteps of the majestic Pirin Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage environment, and just one minute away from the Ski Lift. It is known to be „The most modern winter resort in the Balkans” and after spending 3 days there, we can totally understand why.

The hotel offers many types of rooms and suites both with mountain and city view, perfectly designed to satisfy all your needs.

What to expect: Alpine-style rooms & suites decorated with solid wooden furniture, big elegant bathrooms, award-winning spa center with one indoor pool and two outside pools: a heated one and a seasonal one, outdoor & indoor Jacuzzi, thermal & relaxation area, three luxurious restaurants & five bars.

PS: If you want to spoil yourself and enjoy the ultimate suite experience, just take a look at the Presidential Suite which was named among the Top 101 Suites of the World by the American luxury lifestyle magazine Elite Traveler.

The first thing I have in mind when I think about the beautiful room we had at Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko is the stunning view over the ski slopes and towards the mountain’s peak. Our corner room had two large balconies and we loved to stay there despite the cold weather outside. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to drink a glass of wine with that view in summer time.

The room décor was just perfect for a lovely getaway in the mountains with solid wood furniture and a comfortable bed where we slept like babies after snowboarding (PS: for me, it is called attempting to snowboard).

We also had a large bathroom with both shower and bathtub, fluffy bathrobes to use for the Spa and, one thing I really loved, slippers that come in different sizes and colors (white & black) for men and women. I finally got to wear small comfortable slippers to the spa. Yey!

I’ve almost forgotten to mention the cute welcome we had from Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena: one bottle of red wine, fruit, home-made chocolate and a mix of almonds, nuts, Cajun and pistachio, waiting for us in the room for the perfect beginning of our stay.

As a plus, if you choose an executive room like ours, you have the exclusive privilege of direct access to Kempinski The Spa!

Do you know that feeling when you look forward to starting a new day? Well, I had it every morning at Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena because of the yummy breakfast they served. It’s no secret I love breakfast food and I have to say I really felt the 5 stars services every morning.

What to expect: One word – Perfection! All sorts of regional & international cheese, home-made pork paté, different types of salami and ham, smoked fish, freshly baked croissants and bread, live-cooking stations for eggs and pancakes. Let’s not forget fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh orange & grapefruit juice, sparkling wine.

PS: We were welcomed with a big smile and a shot of health: ginger & fruit shots J

The Gallery Restaurant also offers themed buffet style dinners every night.

Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena in Bansko awaits you with exquisite cuisine & delicious drinks at its 3 amazing restaurants and 5 bars.

Restaurants:

The Gallery Restaurant, which I have already mentioned above – breakfast and themed buffet style dinners

Come Prima Restaurant – Italian cuisine & Mediterranean flavours in a sophisticated atmosphere

Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki Grill – Yes, straight to my heart – Sushi! Of course, this was our first stop and you can read all about our experience HERE!

Bars:

In winter time you can enjoy snacks, quick bites and delicious pizza at the Lobby Bar or Bella Vista Bistro. Kempinski The Spa offers a Vitamin Bar that works perfectly after swimming or enjoying the thermal area. In summer time, La Veranda Bar & Lounge awaits for you on the outdoor terrace with an amazing view!

If you are looking for some late night entertainement, then Piano Bar is the best option and it is open between December to April.

I have arrived to the most important part and I am sure you are all eager to know more about Kempinski The Spa.

Because what can be better in the mountains than having a luxurious place to relax and unwind after a cold day in the snow?

One indoor heated swimming pool, two outdoor ones (heated & seasonal), two Jacuzzis, vitamin bar, fitness center and an amazing thermal area design to offer endless relaxation.

Why is this newly renovated thermal area so amazing? Well, here is what you can find there: Finnish sauna, Herbal sauna, sanarium, infrared cabin, experience showers, deep digital detox area, tailor-made aroma steam bath, laconium and a unique snow room.

I have to tell you a secret: on our last day in the mountains, I cheated and sent Gabriel, my fiancé, on the ski slopes while I rushed to the Spa and relaxed all day long. I returned to Bucharest rested and ready to start a new week at work!

The Spa is open between 9 am – 9 pm for hotel guests.

The good news is that you can visit the spa even if you are not a hotel guest for a day experience. The schedule depends on the season and availability so be sure to give Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena a call or an email for all the details.
